4.1 IP & NEMA Ratings Explained
When discussing IP ratings earlier, some North American customers may be more familiar with NEMA ratings. Here's a comparison for you to refer to for cross regional projects:
- IP54 ≈ NEMA 3- dustproof, splash proof, suitable for outdoor environments with obstruction
- IP56/IP65 ≈ NEMA 4- completely dust-proof, water-resistant, suitable for completely outdoor exposure scenarios (standard requirement for drive thru menu board)
